Lucky Farms is really a hobby farm. Our animals may be small, but our dreams are big. We are growing our miniature zebu herd with a focus on quality by selecting registered IMZA breeding stock and using the best care and feeding practices possible.
Our miniature silky fainting goats are an equally delightful hobby. These animals are bred to achieve highly desirable characteristics such as fainting, blue eyes, long hair, silky coat, small stature and a sweet disposition.
We expect to have animals for sale in summer 2010. Check the Sale Barn to see what is available or take a look at the Zebu Photo Gallery or Goat Photo Gallery to see if we have any new arrivals! Please note, we don't take reservations on unborn animals.
After trying the "Noah's Ark" approach of owning a little bit of everything, we found that it made more sense to choose our favorites and focus on the best way to care for, house and feed them. We have cared for dahl sheep, cheviot sheep, shetland sheep, alpacas, boer goats, nigerian dwarf goats, saanen goats, oberhasli goats, scottish highlander cattle, a donkey and a yak. Over the years it has been hard to part with some of these creatures, but we made it a point to make sure that the next home would be a good fit. The experience of meeting other livestock enthusiasts has been very rewarding and we look forward to sharing our story and introducing our miniature herd to new people.
We loved our yak cow Ethel and she was a real sweetie. The summers were a bit warm for her here, so we sold her to a petting zoo up north.
